Based on our church tradition on September 27 (Meskerem 17) the church celebrates the consecration of the church of the Honorable Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Cross was uncovered by the lover of God, Queen Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, from under the pile of Golgotha, after she ordered its removal.
“ልሳንውን ሓዊ’ያ። ናይ ክፍኣት ዓለም’ያ። እታ ንምሉእ ሰብነት እትምርዝ ክፍሊ ኣካላት፡ ንምሉእ ጕዕዞ ናይ ህይወት’ውን እተቃጽል’ያ። ንገዛእ ርእሳ ድማ ብገሃነም እሳት ዝሓረረት’ያ።....ንልሳን ግና ካብ ደቂ ሰብ ኪገዝኣ ዚኽእል ሓደ’ኳ የልቦን። ንሳ ዘይትዓርፍ እክይቲ፡ ዚቐትል ሕንዚ ዝመልአት’ያ።” ያእ 3፡6,8 ካ.ት
በስመ ኣብ ወወልድ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ ኣሃዱ ኣምላኽ ኣሜን።
ካብ እግዚኣብሔር ኣቦናን ካብ ጎይታና ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስን ጸጋን ሰላም ምስ ኵላትና ይኹን። መንበረ ጵጵስና ሃገረ ስብከት ሰሜን ኣሜርካ ብዘውጽኦ መደብ መሠረት፡ መበል 18 ዓመታዊ መንፈሳዊ ጉባኤና ካብ ሓሙስ 28 ክሳብ 31 ሓምለ 2016 (July 28 to July 31, 2016) (ካብ ፳፩ ክሳብ ፳፬ ሓምለ ፳፻፰ ዓ.ም ግእዝ) ኣብ ቤተ ክርስቲያን መድኃኔ-ዓለም ከተማ ሮቸስተር ኒው ዮርክ ክካየድ እዩ።

“ነቲ ንነፍሲ ወከፍ ብዘይ ኣድልዎ ኸከም ግብሩ ዚፈርድ (ኣምላኽ)፡ ንስኻትኩም “ኣቦ” ኢልኩም እትጽውዕዎ ኻብ ኰንኩምሲ፡ ኣብ’ዚ ዘመን ግሽነትኩም ብፍርሃት ንበሩ።” 1ጴጥ 1፡17።
On Sunday, February 16, 2014 His Grace Bishop Youssef laid hands on Yonathan Taddesse Mehari, Joshua Solomon G/Egziabher, Nathan Okbe Zemede, Andrew Gobrial, David Fanous and Andrew Ebrahim as Psalters. Attending the ordination were parents, Coptic and Eritrean faithful including Fr. Youstos Ghaly, priest of St. Mark Coptic Church in New Orleans, LA.

The Church New Year began on September 1, following an ancient practice that developed in the Byzantine era of the Church's history. (Most ancient cultures, if I am not mistaken, began the New Years in the Fall or the Spring, but never in the dead of winter). This allows each of us the opportunity to recommit, renew and restore our life in Christ by rearranging all of our priorities in such a way that the "one thing needful" is at the heart of our lives:
“ከም’ቲ ሓጢኣት ብሞት ዝገዝአ፡ ጸጋ’ውን ከምኡ ብኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጐይታና ብጽድቂ ንዘለኣለም ህይወት ኪገዝእ’ዩ።” ሮሜ 5፡21
