Patriarch Antonios was born in 1927 in the town of Hemberti, to the north of Asmara in the province of Hamasien.
The Eritrea Orthodox Church of North American Diocese was established in September 2000 by His Holiness Abune Philipos, the 1st Patriarch of the Eritrea Orthodox Church.
Today, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church Archdiocese in Diaspora comprises of the Diocese of North America, Diocese of Europe, and the Diocese of Middle East. The number of Churches and the faithful has flourished by the numbers in the past decade.
From its beginnings in September 2000 until present day, the diocese has developed slowly but surely under the devoted leadership of its clergy and faithful servants. Using every viable means, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church Archdiocese in Diaspora has been proclaiming God's good news in according to the Canon Law of our Orthodox Tewahdo Church.
Prior to the establishment of the Diocese of North America and the coming of His Holiness patriarch Philipos, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church in Diaspora was under the jurisdiction of the Asmara Bishop.

We patriotic and loyal Eritreans and Eritrean-Americans of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewhado Church in North America write to express our dismay over the campaign of defamation and false accusations that is being waged against us through the Radio Station known as FM WUST1120.

The Canonical Diocese in Diaspora of the Eritrean Orthodox Church announces a three-day prayer service, starting from November 24th to November 26th, 2023.
The Diocese requests the faithful to unite in prayer, seeking God's peace for our nation, Eritrea and its neighbors. This is especially vital amid the current atmosphere of fear and the looming threat of war in the region.
May God grant His peace to Eritrea and to the world.

ከም ልማድ ዝኾነ ሰብ ወይ ሕዝቢ፣ ሓዲሽ-ዓመት ክመጽእ ከሎ፣ ኮይኑ ክርእዮ ዝደሊ ብዓይኒ-ተስፋ`ውን ዝጥምቶ፣ ብዙሕ ጽቡቕ ሕልምታት ክህሉ ከም-ዝኽእል፣ ከም-ርዱእ ዝውሰድ እዩ። እቲ ቅዱስ-መጽሓፍ ግና፣ “-ወለዶ ይሓልፍ ወለዶ ከኣ ይመጽእ፣ ምድሪ ግና ከይተለወጠት ንሓዋሩ`ያ ትነብር-” ብምባል`ዩ ገሊጹዎ ዝርከብ። ምስዚ ብምትሕሓዝ ድማ “-ኣብ ዓለም ሓዲሽ ነገር የልቦን-” ብምባል`ዩ፣ እቲ ጠቢብ ዝኾነ ሰሎሞን ወዲ-ዳዊት ዝድምድም። (መክ-1/4)
