As October 31st draws near, I want to make all uninformed Christians in our Diocese aware of certain traditions celebrated in the United States on this day. The "Halloween" celebration pays tribute to Satan. Every act revolving around Halloween is in honor of false gods. False gods are spirits in the Satanic realm. "We only do this for fun", some say. "We do not actually practice witchcraft", others repeat. I often wonder how one justifies the celebration of Halloween, the day Satanists have set aside as their "holy day". I am told that children "dress up" as witches, goblins, ghosts and little devils. Let me think about this for a moment, a small child dressed to resemble Satan's darkness.

Registering to vote is a Christian obligation. It is the first step in the process of being self-responsible in electing a leader whether locally, state-wide, or nationally. It takes approximately ten minutes, with an online application that can be mailed in to your designated registration district or returned online. Everyone is encouraged to register to vote insomuch as they can be eligible to vote for a capable leader that most adheres to the Christian principles and doctrines that are upheld by our beloved Coptic Orthodox Church.

Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him" (Proverbs 30:5). Repairing the economical stability of the nation, foreign policy position, and stance on environmental resources as well as their protection are all important considerations for electing a government leader. Those campaigning for leadership roles often share their views with the public. Their viewpoints are simply projections of what a leader may or may not do should they become elected to a position of leadership. View points are not written in stone, can be changed with regularity, and are situational.

Based on our church tradition on September 27 (Meskerem 17) the church celebrates the consecration of the church of the Honorable Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Cross was uncovered by the lover of God, Queen Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, from under the pile of Golgotha, after she ordered its removal.
