Glory to God that the East Coast youth retreat of the Eritrean Orthodox Church, held in Virginia from June 21st to June 24th, 2024, was a success. The organizers executed a meticulous program, and our youth engaged deeply in spiritual reflection and educational group sessions, enriching their faith and understanding of the Orthodox teachings.

Outdoor activities fostered unity and created lasting memories among attendees. The retreat played a crucial role in strengthening youth bonds and providing opportunities for spiritual growth, as well as fostering a supportive community among the youth. Glory to God for His mercy and the success of this event. See more on YouTube Facebook

These are 'The parenting bible' & educational books. I enjoyed reading these books and you might like them as well.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honour your father and mother--which is the first commandment with a promise-- that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Ephesians 6. 1-4. Honor your father and your mother

Exodus 20:12. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.Colossians 3.20.

Youths' expectation and God's promise

Welcome to the youths section. As you can see, we are still in the initial stages of developing this web site. We hope that you will come back as we continue to update and expand it.

God expects people to obey His commandments. However, there is a special promise to young people. God commands us to ‘Honor our father and mother’. God also promises that children who honor their parents will live long on the earth, and it will be well with them.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honour your father and mother--which is the first commandment with a promise--that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Ephesians 6 1-4. The attached promise to this commandment is "you may enjoy long life on the earth". There are other commandments in the Bible such as:

"Regard your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12).

"Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, "I have no pleasure in them" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

“Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and do not forsake your mother's teaching; indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head and ornaments about your neck” (Proverbs 1:8-9).

“Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord” (Colossians 3:20).

"Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD" (Psalm 34:11).

“Pay attention to your father, and don't neglect your mother when she grows old” (Proverbs 23:22).

“Now therefore, listen to me, my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it” (Proverbs 8:32-33).

"Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right." (Proverbs 20:11).

“My children, have nothing to do with false gods or idols" (1 John 5:21 )

A child cannot concentrate on long speech and if you did so, he will turn away and keep himself busy with something else!!! He likes brief messages which he can pick up and understand easily. If you are compelled to tell a long story, try and make it

Welcome to the Kids' place. God is our loving heavenly Father and we are His children. God wants us to talk with Him, our heavenly Father, and He is happy when we come to Him, seeking to know Him better. The Bible tells us that Jesus loves and blesses children. "Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." (Luke 18:15-17). Jesus knows how to communicate to you in the way you need and understand. Children receive the blessing of Jesus Christ. If you need to receive God’s blessings, come to the Lord and He will bless you. Ask your parents and they will tel you more about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honour your father and mothe that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Ephesians 6 1-4.
