On Sunday February 19, 2012, Deacon Simon Hadgu was ordained and was given the name Fr. Moses.
His Grace Abune Makarios, Bishop of the North American Archdiocese of the Eritrean Orthodox Church ordained the blessed deacon Simon Hadgu at the Archangel Gabriel Eritrean Orthodox Church of Greater New York. The solemn ceremony took place in the presence of the clergy, his wife Mrs. Ababa, his children and extended family memebrs.
Fr. Moses will serve the Tewahdo faithful in Montreal, Canada in the Church that he has been serving for a number of years as a deacon. Following his ordination, he will spend 40 days of fasting and preparation for the service at the Coptic Monastery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Diocese announces the ordination of Fr. Moses with great joy and we pray that the Lord grant him the gift of the Holy Spirit.
