 "So it was, as soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. - ኰነ ድማ፡ ቅነ ምግልጋሉ ምስ ኣብጽሔ፡ ናብ ቤቱ ኸደ።" (ሉቃ - Luke 1:23).

On Friday, December 25, 2020, the beloved Hegumen (komos) Araya Tesfay departed to be with the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 87. Right after Eritrea declared independence in 1993, Hegumen Araya was the first priest to be sent oversea by Patriarch Philipos to serve in the USA and he was the priest of St. Gabriel Church of New York for 27 years. 

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 7075 S Revere Pky, Centennial, CO, 80112. Because of COVID-19, attendance will be limited but the funeral service will be live streamed directly here.

May God comfort the family and repose his blessed soul in the paradise of joy.
