Diocese
of the Eritrean Orthodox Church in North America has completed its
eighth (8th) Annual Conference under the theme verse of "If
you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will
know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8.30-31. It
took place in Oakland,
CA.
at St. Antonius Coptic Orthodox Church from July 27 to 30, 2006.
Our
guest of honor for the 2006 Conference was His Grace Bishop Athanasius
of Coptic Orthodox Church from Egypt. His Grace, Bishop Athanasius
encouraged followers of the Eritrean Orthodox Church to be firm
at this trying time and reminded the faithful to never stop supporting
the poor in their needs for it is our spiritual duty.
Faithful
of the Eritrean Orthodox Church from North America participated
in this spiritual gathering. The conference was held for four days
of prayer, worship and panel discussions.
Sincere
appreciation goes to the the faithful of the Eritrean
Orthodox Church in Oakland.
May the never-ending grace of God be with each
one of them for their efforts and love of God and service.
Several
other people must also be thanked for the labor of love they devoted
to their specific tasks. The Conference was a complete success because
of their selfless devotion. We want to thank all participants for
allowing the Lord to use them to His glory. We thank God for each
and every one of you.
We
will announce where and when the 2007 conference will be as soon
as possible. Detail will be posted in due time.

glory be to our God who blessed us in such a successful Conference.
