Diocese of the Eritrean Orthodox Church in North America has completed its Sixth Annual Conference under the theme: "Taste and see that the Lord is good" Psalms 34:8. It took place in Atlanta, Georgia at Medhanie-Alem Orthodox Church from July 29 to August 1, 2004.

His Grace Bishop Kerlos, Bishop of Southern Eritea, and His Grace Bishop Serapion, Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles and Southern California for the Egyptian Church, were guests of honor.
As usual people came from all over USA, Canada, Europe, and Eritrea.

"No-one takes this honour upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was." Hebrews 5.4.

Nine youth members were ordained deacons on August 1, 2004. Seven of these deacons were raised in North America. Their ages and acadimic levels vary from Middle school to Ph.D. Names of the newly ordained deacons are! Deacons Abel Berhe, Abel Andemariam, Yaphet G/Yohannes and Sassnios Ghbrai all from Atlanta, GA.

Filmon G/Tinsae, Meron Debesai, and Musie G/Michael from Seattle, WA.

Appreciation goes to the Atlanta Medhanie-Alem Church congregation. They have tirelessly hosted this conference for the last five years. May the never-ending grace of God be with them.

Several other people must also be thanked for the labor of love they devoted to their specific tasks. The Conference was a complete success because of their selfless devotion. We want to thank all participants for allowing the Lord to use you to His glory. We thank God for each and every one of you.

The next conference will be in Washington DC on August 4-7, 2005.

May glory be to our God who blessed us in such a successful Conference.
